50th Reunion!
The Class of 1969 reunion committee is pleased to announce that our 50th reunion will be held the weekend of October 18-20, 2019. The main event will be Saturday night at the Maynard Golf Course Clubhouse 50 Brown St. Maynard, MA (see the photo gallery at www.sterlinggolf.com/maynard/ )
Friday evening will be for informal gatherings and we hope to have tee times Saturday for those interested in golf. A more casual gathering on Sunday, perhaps brunch, at a location to be determined is also on the agenda.
We will be providing a short list of nearby hotels where some rooms will be blocked off for those of you who want to spend a night or two. We will be sending updates as the plans for this exciting event unfold. It will be on October 18, 2014 from 7 pm- midnight at the Maynard Rod and Gun Club.
We will provide more details in the coming weeks/months so stayed tuned....
We will have blocks of rooms reserved under the LS High School Reunion name at the Best Western in Concord (Rt 2) and the Fairfield Inn in Sudbury. I am awaiting the final contracts, and you should be able to reservere early next week. The Best Western is $149/King room and $159 2 Double beds. They provide a Continental Breakfast and require only a one night reservation. The Fairfield Inn is $169/King room and provide a hot breakfast plus shuttle transportation to and from the reunion. For now, they are requiring a 2 night stay, however we many be able to renegotiate this. Both hotels are within 3.5-4 miles of the event site. I will post links on the event page once we have confirmed the pricing. If people need to be closer to Logan or Providence, we can see if there are reasonable hotels near the airports and block rooms there as well. Just let Lisa and I know and we can investigate.

Hotel Reservations:
For those coming in from out of town, we have a group rate ("Lincoln Sudbury 35th Reunion") at the Best Western Royal Plaza in Marlborough, MA. Please call the hotel directly to get the group rate -- the cut off date is 24 April! The hotel is located on the north side of Route 20, just west of the interchange with I-495.
Our group rate there is $119/night (with 11.7% worth of taxes, that comes to about $134/night) and after that, space will be provided as available at the prevailing rates. Reservation may be cancelled 72 hours prior to arrival. There are other hotels nearby -- send me a note or use your favorite internet-based map (Google Maps, Bing Maps, Mapquest, etc.) or travel site for more information

Although this event is not formally part of Reunion, Linda Chorney (who definitely IS part of reunion!) will be speaking about her experiences with the 2012 Grammy Awards. Linda will be speaking at the Goodnow Library (which is still at 21 Concord Road in Sudbury) from 7 to 8:30.

We have deliberately NOT planned any events for Friday, so that individuals can get together with groups of friends on their own.

Back in the day, we (well, the women) had the annual Senior Ladies Luncheon as the graduation approached. In that spirit, we will have the Senior Senior Ladies (and Gents) Afternoon Tea and Games. Iced Tea, Cakes, and Conversation. I am awaiting affirmation from the school, but we anticipate holding this on the grounds of the new Lincoln-Sudbury, at their outdoor dining patio. [In the event of rain, we'll just move indoors.]

Come and dance the night away to the lyrical sounds of Linda Chorney, Alan Goodrich (and the Alligators naturally!), Jeff Davison, and whoever else is daring enough to jam with Alan. Although you can order off of the menu, we are planning a buffet dinner (menu TBD, but there will be salad, a choice of either a chicken, beef, or vegetarian main course, and several sides -- stay tuned to the next update.) The cost of dinner will be $25/person.
Sunday, 26 May (All Day). Picnic at Hopkinton State Park (164 Cedar Street, Hopkinton, MA) with Catering by Jeff Dandeneau
We've reserved the picnic area at Hopkinton State Park for our final event. HSP offers a variety of activities for you -- Hiking! Swimming! Canoeing and Boating! Horseback riding! (Although I'm pretty sure you have to bring your own horse.) Jeff Dandeneau has graciously agreed to cater the picnic (however donations to defer his costs would be accepted with equal grace) through is Tailgater's Wood Grill venture. There is a $5 fee to park at HSP.
We've reserved the picnic area all day, so feel free to come and go as you see fit. Stay tuned to our next update as to when Jeff will be around. Not surprisingly, his offerings will be oriented towards meat, but for those who have specific dietary requirements should (by all means) let me or Jeff know and we will take care of you.
Alumni lost and found
We've identified about 635 people who passed through Lincoln or Sudbury with us, of which, we have email addresses for about 270. If there is someone you would like to reconnect with, let me know and I will facilitate that connection.
By a similar token, attached to this message is our current list of "lost" alumni -- those for whom we do not have an ELECTRONIC contact for (email address, Facebook page, or LinkedIn page). If you can help us fill in missing information for folks on this list, that would be terrific.
Children
The question has come up about children at different events. No one is going to be prevented from joining in if they bring their kids (grandchildren, adorable as they may be, are another matter -- we reserve the right to ply them with Red Bull and Puppies), but that being said, dinner on Saturday night is geared towards adults. Or at least those chronologically adults. The picnic and tea/games promise to be more interesting, or at least there will be space for them to run around.
Other classes
Although this event is geared to those of us who graduated (or should have graduated) in June '78, the fact remains that we have friends on both sides of that date. Our peers in other classes would be warmly welcomed and you should feel free to pass this message on to them (of course, members of the class of 2011 might find themselves alternately bored to tears or embarrassed to death by associating with us.)
